Welcome

There is a happy and active atmosphere in the school where everyone is treated as individuals and recognised and appreciated by everyone else in the school. The pleasant surroundings of the school offer many opportunities for outdoor studies which enrich the curricular experiences of the children. The school grounds are spacious and include a hedge, fruit trees and meadow along with beds for planting and growing vegetables and gardening activities. The school
developed the outside area of the Foundation Stage so that pupils could do activities independently and safely.

We offer a number of experiences beyond the school grounds that develop pupils' confidence and skills e.g. Residential trips to Cardiff and Glan Llyn, walks in the local area and beyond and much more!

The fact that the Cylch Meithrin is relocating to the school grounds in September 2024 undoubtedly ensures closer links between the school, the pre-schoolers and the local community.

It is hoped that the information within the handbook will inform you about the philosophy and organisation of the school and also promote close cooperation and meaningful connection between school and home. This partnership is vital and in working together we can provide support for each child to do the best they can.

At Ysgol Llanllyfni we provide a safe, happy and organised realm where children develop respect for others, responsible attitudes, self-discipline, good work habits, respect for their surroundings and pride in their work and achievements. We ask that you as parents support the school to develop these attitudes ensuring that your children arrive at school on time, behave appropriately at all times, are encouraged to respect the property of others and school property, and that the school is provided with written/telephone information if your child is absent or late.

It is important that you show a consistent interest in what your child is doing in school. You will have the opportunity to come to school to discuss your child's development. Our goal is to create a caring and purposeful community that we can all be proud of. I am always ready to guide prospective parents and their children around the school. Call or call in to arrange a visit to meet staff and visit classes.

We look forward to meeting you.
